ZenBuild's PDF editor includes an encryption tool that secures your documents with AES-256 encryption. Open your PDF, set a password in the Tools drawer, and download the protected file.
Go to Edit PDF and upload the file you want to protect. Drag it onto the drop area or click to browse. The editor loads the document with a thumbnail sidebar on the left and a full canvas view in the center.

Click the 'Tools' button in the top toolbar to open the Tools drawer on the right. Expand the 'Encrypt' section and enter a password that will be required to open the document. The tool uses AES-256 encryption, the industry standard for document security.

Click 'Encrypt PDF' to apply the password protection. The processing happens in your browser — the unprotected version is never uploaded to any server. Download the encrypted PDF and share it securely. Send the password to the recipient through a separate channel.
Password-protect your PDF files with AES encryption. Also decrypt password-protected PDFs.

Reduce PDF file size without losing quality. Perfect for email attachments and faster uploads.
A user password is required to open and view the PDF. An owner password controls permissions — it lets you restrict printing, copying, and editing even after the document is opened.
AES-256 is the same encryption standard used by governments and financial institutions. It is considered unbreakable with current technology when paired with a strong password.
